Accountable for the development and communication of key VM direction, in line with the marketing strategy for our homewares category

Located at the Myer Support Office in Docklands and reporting to the National Visual Merchandise Manager this role will offer challenge, diversity and an opportunity to develop your career within Visual Merchandise.

About the role:

  • Develop and communicate key visual merchandise direction
  • Contribute to creative ideas that result in easy shopping experience for the customer
  • Deliver the right VM solution for customers by consistently looking at issues and opportunities from the customers perspectives, to tailor projects to meet their needs
  • Work as one team to achieve positive financial result and deliver on visual merchandise strategy
  • Collaborate with colleagues and suppliers to create effective and innovative visual merchandise set ups
  • Coach and develop VM, merchandise and store teams through VM communications and in store training
  • Work with store VM Managers to ensure that the visual merchandise direction and standards are implemented in accordance with visual merchandise documentation

 

About You:

  • excellent knowledge of Visual Merchandising processes is essential
  • experience in a VM management role is preferred
  • High proficiency in software applications Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Good understanding of merchandising techniques
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of preparing floor layouts and flow - to best influence customer options/ purchasing choices
  • The ability to balance VM back with commercial realities
  • Excellent knowledge of local and international VM trends
  • Openness to feedback and a focus on continuous improvement
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Time management skills and the ability to adhere to strict deadlines
  • Effective creative collaboration and negotiation skills, strong communication with the ability to cross multiple areas and levels - store, support office and suppliers
