Myer is currently looking for a Sustainability Coordinator to support Myer’s sustainability strategy. As Sustainability Coordinator, you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of sustainability and climate reporting obligations and initiatives. The role is pivotal in supporting Myer in transitioning to the new Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards, strengthening our data foundations across emissions management, packaging, waste and sustainable merchandising, and providing clear insights and information that support strategic and operational decision-making.

About the Role:

  • Support Myer’s sustainability strategy with a specific focus across emissions management, packaging, waste and sustainable merchandising
  • Preparation, verification and presentation of external environmental reporting and regulatory submission documents to ensure compliance is met as well as internal reporting such as store leader boards and monthly management updates
  • Analyse and interpret data to recommend and implement actions to support our progression towards successfully achieving our targets, identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities
  • Strengthen data integrity and documentation to support assurance and audit readiness
  • Support the rollout, configuration and optimisation of data management software
  • Provide broad project support to assist in the implementation and delivery of sustainability initiatives
  • Builds and maintains effective working relationships with all stakeholders internal and external
  • Educating and influencing stakeholders regarding the importance of sustainable management practices
  • Provide technical inputs to identify and address environmental risks is advantageous

About You:

  • Holds a tertiary qualification in Sustainability, Commerce, Finance, Data Analytics, Risk or related disciplines. 
  • Previous experience in a similar role with technical knowledge in relation to energy, waste, packaging and waste is highly advantageous
  • Retail industry experience is highly desirable
  • Proven problem-solving ability with a practical, solutions-focused approach
  • Passionate about sustainability, environmental impact and climate change
  • Exposure to Scope 1-3 emissions, NABERs, NGERS, Green Star or APCO is advantageous
  • Stay up to date with technical and policy developments both domestically and globally
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Highly organised with strong time and project management skills, ability to prioritise and manage multiple deadlines and projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse stakeholders
  • Proactive and willingness to learn, develop and upskill where required
