Myer Group is looking for a Loss Control Communications Officer who will develop and execute communications that support Loss Control priorities, helping to improve team member awareness, strengthen safety culture, and drive engagement with shrinkage and risk management initiatives across the business.
About the role:
- Support the development and delivery of Loss Control communications and awareness strategy
- Develop clear, practical, and engaging communication materials
- Create and maintain content such as weekly updates, campaign packs, training support materials, and operational guides to ensure messaging is simple, consistent, and relevant to frontline teams
- Coordinate the rollout of Loss Control initiatives including supporting the communication of new programs, tools, and processes
- Act as a key point of contact for communications across the business, helping to clarify messaging, provide guidance, and ensure consistent understanding of Loss Control priorities.
- Work closely with Regional Loss Prevention Managers, Business Partners, and cross-functional teams (e.g. Retail Operations, Supply Chain, HR) to ensure communications are aligned, timely, and fit for purpose.
- Support a two-way communication culture via gathering feedback from stakeholders to understand challenges, identify gaps, and continuously improve the effectiveness of communications.
- Monitor and track engagement with key communications and initiatives (e.g. campaign participation, feedback, reporting trends), providing insights to support continuous improvement.
- Maintain communication planning and governance processes
- Ensure consistency and alignment of messaging
- Provide general support across the Loss Control team on communications-related tasks, projects, and business updates as required.
About you:
- 1+ years’ experience in communications, marketing, or retail operations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly PowerPoint, Word and Excel
- High attention to detail and accuracy across all communications and documentation
- Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders
- Adaptability and willingness to learn in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage urgent requests where required
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Communications, Marketing, Business would be highly regarded
- Understanding of retail store environments and frontline operations would be desirable
