As a Senior Finance Analyst, you will be supporting the Commercial Finance Manager to provide key stakeholders and finance with tailored, strategic advice, business case support and performance reporting. This will enable the commercial success of the Merchandise Brick & Mortar and Online business, whilst delighting our customers.

About the Role:

  • Provide business partnering, financial modelling and business case support on project investment requests for the Merchandise business unit, reviews post implementation benefits to assess project effectiveness and communicates results
  • Provide full P&L financial support on commercial merchandise arrangements, including Sales, Gross Profit, Costs and Inventory reporting.
  • Analyse financial data and results to educate the merchandise business on the levers of success and opportunities to improve profitability to inform strategic decision making
  • Assist in ad hoc projects and analysis and assist with value add projects on day to day duties and processes
  • Assist as required:
  • Delivery of merchandise performance reporting, metrics submissions and commentary for the Board & EGM
  • Management and collaboration with key stakeholders to build detailed budgets and forecasts for the merchandise business
  • Undertake presentation of monthly results and forecasts to key stakeholders, and highlight key risks and opportunities

About You:

  • Extensive experience in a commercial or business partnering role
  • CA or CPA qualified or similar qualification, with previous experience in a Commercial Finance environment
  • Strong excel modelling skills with previous experience working with large data sets
  • Strong analytical and quantitative problem solving skills with sound attention to detail
  • Strong commercial acumen with an ability to establish a deep understanding of any business problem being analysed
  • A positive approach to challenge and change with the ability to be agile and adaptable
  • An inquisitive and open mindset to fully understand business requirements, whilst having the courage to challenge
  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive, productive relationships with key stakeholders at all levels
  • Self-driven with a can-do attitude and can work both independently and collaboratively
  • A proven ability to challenge and influence key business stakeholders and processes to drive the best possible outcome for the organisation

Desired but not essential:

  • Experience or exposure to TM1 software
  • Experience in Retail, FMCG, eCommerce, logistics or a similar diversified sector
