In alignment with the Myer Merchandise strategy and Customer First plan, as a Senior Category Buyer – Hard Home, you will develop, buy and execute a category plan that delivers a compelling and profitable merchandise range that puts the customer first.

About the Opportunity
- Take ownership and drive the execution of the Myer Merchandise strategy for Myer’s Tabletop brands
- Full accountability for trading the category and implementing appropriate tactical activities in relation to sales, profit, stock to drive business outcomes
- Further develop your leadership career and act as 2IC for the Category Manager with potential to take on market scoping activities as required
- Manage complete range selection for national brands including, order placement and financial performance of the business, including budgets, price architecture and sourcing
- Drive sourcing strategy for the brand ensuring product is sourced in the appropriate markets for both product improvement and margin gain
- Maintaining solid competitor and trend analysis to remain relevant and build a range to suit the market and Myer customer segmentation
- Apply advanced negotiation skills to achieve optimal trading terms that deliver commercial targets
- Work collaboratively with the planning team to determine assortment plans, conduct PSA, build product strategy, and determine best sourcing methods for the product
- Be responsible for marketing plans and our communications strategy
- Lead team to high performance through regular and effective coaching, feedback, mentoring and training and development opportunities

- A dynamic, strategic individual with the ability to proactively spot new opportunities for the business within this category
- Strong business acumen, financial and analytical skills
- Superior supplier relationship management skills
- Experienced in trade marketing and strong negotiation skills
- Passionate for product with experience in ranging that demonstrates interpretation of trends into a successful product range
- A leader who inspires others and can lead by example
