Myer is looking for a Homewares Technologist who will align with our Quality Assurance & Merchandise strategy, provide technical advice and expertise in areas of quality, sourcing and compliance. You will work collaboratively with Buyers, Product Developers and relevant stakeholders to optimise product quality, production processes and financial returns to the business.

About the Role:

  • Review, update and improve Quality/Performance standards in collaboration with buying teams and according to Industry benchmarks
  • Work with the category teams to ensure that Myer’s Exclusive Homewares Brands are delivered to the correct specifications and Myer’s Performance standards
  • Engage with suppliers to ensure Myer Exclusive Brand (MEB) products consistently meet quality expectations
  • Monitor and manage Returns targets and online Customer reviews and establish monthly quality reports and resolutions
  • Support the Merchandise Compliance Manager to embed the MEB Quality Assurance Process into Merchandise Buying and Critical Path Processes
  • Create and maintain a library of test reports and inspections reports for MEB products and identifying improvements/updates/distribution to Myer product guidelines
  • Create and maintain a library of supplier technical audits
  • Conduct monthly store audits to check stock meets quality standards and submit report summary and recommendations to buying teams
  • Manage product quality, as per BRAND DNA through customer feedback and benchmarking industry standards
  • Mentor, educate & share knowledge & learnings with buying teams and QA team

 About You:

  • A detailed understanding of the role of Quality Control and product development
  • Knowledge of Homewares consumer products 
  • Ability to handle non-routine problems and situations
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proven record of achieving results, building relationships and problem solving
  • Actively maintains product speciality and builds product knowledge
  • Communicate clearly and credibly with different audiences
  • 2 years+ experience in a similar role will be highly regarded
