Myer Group is seeking a Marketplace Manager (Business Development Manager) to drive the growth and success of the marketplace by identifying new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and executing market expansion initiatives.

Leverage market analysis to uncover trends, develop targeted strategies for business acquisition and retention, and ensure revenue growth through effective sales funnel management.

 

About the role:

  • Identify and Onboard New Opportunities: Research and analyse market trends and range gaps to identify new business opportunities, potential partners, and areas for growth within the retail ecosystem.
  • Build, negotiate, and maintain strong relationships with key marketplace sellers, suppliers, and strategic partners to drive platform engagement and growth.
  • Develop and implement strategies to attract new businesses to the marketplace, including onboarding, retention, and expansion tactics.
  • Explore and execute expansion into new markets across new product categories.
  • Own the sales funnel for new partners, closing and launching accounts, working to achieve revenue targets and contribute to the overall financial goals of the marketplace.
  • Track the performance of new partnerships and initiatives, using data and insights to adjust strategies and optimize results.

 

About you:

  •  4+ years of e-commerce, marketplace or retail experience in business development, partnerships, or sales.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record of building strong relationships, including  C-suite executives, and delivering results.
  • Highly skilled in managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced retail environment, with a keen ability to prioritize, multitask, and maintain strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyse data and use insights to inform decision-making and optimise strategy.
  • Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving business growth.
  • Comfortable working with digital platforms and tools.
